  There's 8 years worth of reviews specifically mentioning how awful Mary Thompson is. That should tell you what you need to know. Please do yourself a favor and don't subject yourself to one of their rentals. The place was very filthy and getting them to come fix anything was like pulling teeth. They did, however, constantly barge into the apartment unannounced and lied repeatedly about leaving notices. They came in to "check the batteries in the smoke alarms" 3 times in a span of about a month and a half. There are better places in Ames to rent from. It's not worth the headache.

  From the other reviews you will see that the property manager is often hard to deal with. This is true. However the rest of the staff are really nice, and the people at the front desk did care about me. The prices were similar to elsewhere in Ames. But, they do have some pretty good locations and other amenities. As far as property management companies in Ames, this one is not the worst, but not the best. If you pay your rent on time, and don't ever need to talk to the property manager, this place will be a good experience. I would recommend it over many other places that's for sure, and they did have a good maintenance staff.
